About Photos by Fojo
I'm a former United States Navy Photojournalist (Fojo for short), a daily newspaper/wire service photographer and college/seminar instructor. Assignments have taken me to Japan, Guam, Hong Kong, Korea, the Philippines, Spain, Norway, England, Scotland, North Africa, Mexico and most of the continental United States. I currently work out of Lorain, Ohio, specializing in photographic wall art, coffee table books, stock and event photography.

After graduating from San Diego State University and Cleveland's Cooper School of Art (in Photography) I began my newspaper career with the Lorain Journal before striking out for parts both known and unknown.  I had a ball.

Right now I work mostly for myself, shooting (and selling) things that interest me the most - mainly minor league baseball, boxing, horse racing and other sports, travel and street photography, coupled with writing and teaching. If I had to pinpoint a style, I guess I'd consider myself to be an Impressionistic Realist - whatever the hell that is.

I'm also somewhat unique (maybe stubborn would be a better word) in my shooting methods. I'm strictly digital but as a throwback to my newspaper days, I shoot only hand-held, available light JPG images, usually wide open and at 1600 ISO.

Oh yeah. I don't use Photoshop and I don't do weddings!!!
